Start here
Your first 20 minutes
Before you start, open a second browser tab
You will be copying values out of Shopify and pasting them into Shopdeck. Keep Shopify open in one tab and Shopdeck in another, so you are not signing in and out all the time. Every link in this manual opens in a new tab by itself.
Where everything lives
One menu down the left-hand side, three groups. Almost every instruction in this manual starts by naming one of these.

Setup — every connection
Settings — people and names
Setup and Settings are two different screens and people mix them up. Setup holds your keys and connections. Settings holds the workspace name, its members and its invitations.
The four steps that matter
Create your account
Go to shopdeck.io and pick the Create account tab. You need an email address and a password of at least 10 characters.
Shopdeck emails you a confirmation link. Open it. You are then signed in, and a workspace has already been made for you — named after your email address, and you can rename it later.
Being invited by someone instead? Then you do not create anything — just open the link they sent you and press Accept and open workspace. See Account, workspace and team.
Connect your shop
In the left-hand menu, open Setup. It is at the bottom, under Workspace. The first card on that page is Shopify.
This is the one connection everything else leans on. It takes about ten minutes the first time, because you have to create a small app inside your own Shopify admin. The whole thing is written out click by click on Connect Shopify — go there, do it, and come back.
You are done when
You are done with this step when the Shopify card shows a green Configured badge and Test connection answers with your shop’s name.
Connect one ad platform
Still in Setup. Scroll to Meta Ads or TikTok Ads — whichever you actually advertise on. You only need one to get started; add the second later.
- TikTok is the quicker of the two: there is a Connect with TikTok button that does most of it. See Connect TikTok.
- Meta needs a token you generate yourself in Business settings. See Connect Meta.
Without this, Shopdeck knows what you sold but not what it cost you to sell it — so there is no profit figure, only revenue.
Fill in what your goods cost you
Open Profit Dashboard in the menu, then Cost settings. Seven numbers, and the two that matter most are already filled in with sensible defaults.
Do not skip this. Every green and red verdict in Shopdeck is calculated from these numbers. Get the transaction fee wrong and the whole dashboard is wrong with it. The full explanation of each field is on Costs and margins.
Watch out
Shopdeck reads the purchase price of each product from Shopify’s own Cost per item field. If you never filled that in, your cost of goods is zero and your profit will look far too good. That is the single most common reason a new dashboard shows impossible margins.
At this point open Profit Dashboard → Overview and set the date range to 30 d. You should see real orders, real spend and a real profit figure. If it is empty, jump to Troubleshooting.
Worth doing the same evening
These two take five minutes each and change what Shopdeck can show you.
Make sales arrive in seconds instead of minutes
Out of the box, Shopdeck asks Shopify for new orders every few minutes. Add six webhooks in your Shopify admin and Shopify tells Shopdeck the moment an order is placed, so a sale lands on the Live page while the customer is still looking at the thank-you page.
Step by step on Get orders in seconds.
Turn on the Live page
Paste one line into your theme and a second small script into Shopify’s customer events, and the Live page starts showing people walking through your shop: what they are looking at, what is in their basket, who is at the checkout.
The line that goes in your theme<script src="https://app.shopdeck.io/api/profit/track.js?token=YOUR-TOKEN" defer="defer"></script>You generate YOUR-TOKEN in Setup — do not invent one. The whole thing, including where exactly it goes, is on See visitors live.
Whenever you feel like it
- Ad Intelligence needs nothing connected. Open it, add the shops you compete with, and it starts reading their catalogues and their ads tonight. See Ad Intelligence.
- The Campaign Builder works as soon as Shopify and one ad platform are connected. See The Campaign Builder.
- Invite the people who work with you. You create a link and send it yourself; Shopdeck does not email it. See Account, workspace and team.
Why this order
Every part of Shopdeck reads the same connections, so the work you do in Setup is done once for everything. Shopify comes first because it is the only source of truth about money that actually arrived. The ad platform comes second because without it there is nothing to subtract. Your cost prices come third because without them the subtraction is wrong. Everything after that makes Shopdeck faster or wider, not more correct.
