Account, workspace and team
Two addresses, one account
Shopdeck answers on two names and it helps to know which is which.
- shopdeck.io — the front door. The homepage, the sign-in form, the terms and the privacy notice.
- app.shopdeck.io — the product itself. Everything you actually work in.
You sign in at the front door and land inside automatically. Bookmark either one; if you open the wrong one for what you asked for, Shopdeck moves you to the right one and carries your session along.
Creating an account
Open the sign-in page and switch tabs
Go to shopdeck.io/login. There are two tabs: Sign in and Create account. Pick the second.
Fill in three boxes
Email, Password and Repeat password. The password must be at least 10 characters — Shopdeck says so under the box and will not let you continue until it is.
There is no “sign in with Google”. Email and password, or a one-time sign-in link, and nothing else.
Open the confirmation email
Shopdeck shows Check your inbox and sends you a link. Open it. That link both confirms your address and signs you in.
You already have a workspace
You do not have to create one. A personal workspace is made the moment your account is, named after the part of your email before the @, and you are its owner. Rename it later under Settings.
If it says creating accounts is switched off
The message reads: “Creating accounts is switched off. Ask a workspace admin for an invitation.” That means this Shopdeck is running invite-only. Somebody who already has a workspace has to send you a link — see below.
Signing in, and what to do when you cannot
Normally: email, password, Sign in. Two other ways out of trouble sit on the same screen.
- Email me a sign-in link — Shopdeck sends a link that signs you in without a password. It works once and expires quickly. It cannot create an account, only open one that already exists.
- Forgot password? — type your email address in the box first, then click it. You get a link that takes you to a page called Choose a new password. Same rule: at least 10 characters. After saving you are signed in and taken straight to your workspace.
“Email or password is incorrect”
Why: Either the address or the password is wrong — Shopdeck deliberately does not say which.
Fix: Use Email me a sign-in link instead. If that arrives, the address is right and it was the password.
“Your email address is not confirmed yet”
Why: The account exists but the confirmation link was never opened.
Fix: Find that email — check spam — and open the link, then sign in again.
Bringing someone into your workspace
Shopdeck does not send the invitation
It creates a link and hands it to you. You send it yourself, however you like. That is deliberate, but it means a link you create and forget to send simply expires after 14 days.
Open Settings
Left-hand menu, under Workspace, click Settings. Scroll to the section called Invitations. Only admins and owners see it.
Fill in the address and pick a role
Type their Email address, choose a Role — Viewer, Researcher or Admin — and press Create invitation. You cannot invite somebody straight to owner; that is a separate step afterwards.
Copy the link and send it
A panel appears with the link and a Copy link button. Send it by mail, chat, whatever you use. The link is valid for 14 days and works once.
Anyone holding that link can join, so treat it like a password. If it goes astray, press Revoke on the row and make a new one.
They accept
They open the link, sign in or create an account, and see a page saying Join {your workspace} with a button Accept and open workspace. That is it — they are in, at the role you picked.
The four roles
Roles are per workspace. The same person can be an admin in one and a viewer in another. The line that matters most is between Researcher and Admin: only admins and owners can see or change your API keys.
| Role | Can do | Cannot do |
|---|---|---|
| Viewer | Read everything: the dashboard, the Live page, builds, winners. Leave the workspace. | See Setup at all. Change anything. Open the Competitors screen. |
| Researcher | Everything a viewer can, plus: manage competitors, build campaigns, edit research data. | Touch credentials, members or invitations. |
| Admin | Everything above, plus: Setup and all connections, cost settings, invite and remove people, rename the workspace. | Make somebody an owner, change or remove an owner, delete the workspace. |
| Owner | Everything, including handing ownership to someone else. | Step down while being the only owner — transfer first, or delete the workspace. |
“You cannot open that page”
Why: Your role in the workspace you are currently in is too low for that screen. The page tells you which role it needs.
Fix: Ask an owner or admin to raise it under Settings → Members. If you belong to several workspaces, also check you are in the right one — the tile at the top of the menu says which.
Several workspaces
The tile at the very top of the left-hand menu shows the workspace you are in, with your role underneath. Click it for a list of every workspace you belong to, and New workspace at the bottom to make another — for a second shop, or for a client.
Nothing is shared between workspaces. Separate connections, separate figures, separate members. That is the point.
Leaving and deleting
Both live at the bottom of Settings, in Danger zone, and both ask you to confirm.
- Leave this workspace — you lose access until somebody invites you back. If you are the last owner you have to hand ownership over first.
- Delete this workspace — owners only. Removes every member, invitation, credential and all of that workspace’s data. You have to type the workspace name exactly to confirm, and there is no undo.
Deleting your whole Shopdeck account is not a button. Write to merrave.ecom@gmail.com and ask.
