Campaign Builder
The Campaign Builder
Nothing is ever switched on for you
Every campaign, every ad set and every ad the builder creates is paused. Shopdeck reads the result back afterwards to confirm it, on all three levels. You turn it on yourself, in Meta or TikTok, when you have looked at it.
That is not a setting. There is no switch to change it.
What it is for
The work it removes is the repetitive kind. Ten countries, four videos and three texts each is a hundred and twenty ads, and building those by hand is an evening of clicking with a typo somewhere in the middle.
The builder does that in a few minutes and, more importantly, does it identically every time — same naming, same tracking tags, same settings — so the numbers that come back are comparable.
The screens
- Builds — everything you have built, newest first, with its status. Your starting point.
- New campaign — the wizard itself. Covered on Build your first campaign.
- Templates — texts you have saved to reuse.
- Library — the videos and images you have uploaded, in folders.
- Errors — where a failed build explains itself.
- Settings — builder defaults, including the budget cap.
What a build's status means
| Status | What happened |
|---|---|
| waiting | Queued. Nothing has been created yet. |
| running | Being built right now. The page updates as it goes. |
| done (paused) | Everything was created and Shopdeck checked it afterwards: it is all there and it is all paused. This is what success looks like. |
| check failed | It was built, but reading it back did not match what was asked for. Usually the check ran a moment too early. Open the build and press the re-check — it moves to done if all is well. |
| error | A step failed. The build page names the step and quotes what the platform said. |
A build that stopped halfway has usually created some things already. Look in Meta or TikTok before rebuilding, or you end up with two of everything.
The rails
- A budget cap. Builder settings hold a maximum daily budget for a build. Ask for more and the builder refuses rather than warns. It exists so a typed zero too many cannot become a real campaign.
- Landing pages are checked. The URL your ads point at is verified before anything is created — an ad pointing at a 404 is worse than no ad.
- Everything is checked afterwards. Shopdeck reads the campaign, the ad sets and the ads back from the platform and compares them with what you asked for.
What it does not do
- It does not switch anything on, raise a budget, or change a bid.
- It does not write the copy for you. You bring the texts, or load them from a template.
- It does not decide what to test. That is the part that is your job.
